Spencer Van Doren is a recent graduate of The University of Akron. Under the direction of Dr. Larry D. Snider, he gained a diverse education in percussion including concert and orchestral, African, Brazilian, and many other forms from around the world. In February 2020, Spencer traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to compete with Nutrien Silver Stars and Phase II Pan Groove in their annual steel pan competition, Panorama.

Spencer’s marching experience includes the Orrville High School Marching band, the University of Akron Marching Band, Legends Drum and Bugle Corps, and Rogues Hollow Regiment. His instructing experience includes Orrville and Cloverleaf High School and Rogues Hollow Regiment, respectively.

Spencer is now the Percussion Composer and Coordinator for Rogues Hollow Regiment. Additionally, he is a steel pan performer and arranger based in Sandusky, Ohio.
