CLIFF MARLOWE

Battery Tech - Snare

Cliff Marlowe is a lifelong musician having had his modest beginnings playing guitar at the age of 5. Eventually, his passion for music transitioned towards percussion which has been a serious discipline for him for the better part of 20 years. With drum set as a focus, Cliff has performed with several rock and jazz ensembles; even earning the opportunity to study at the Musician’s Institute of Los Angeles, California.

Cliff placed his academic focus on psychology, receiving his BA in Psychology and MA in Forensic Psychology at Marshall University. While studying at Marshall, he continued his drumming by performing with the university drumline and several world-class indoor and outdoor marching ensembles. He eventually transitioned his engagement with the activity toward educating and designing. He has worked with several high school and independent programs across West Virginia, Ohio, Kentucky, and Michigan; also serving as the director of WV’s first and only WGI finalist percussion ensemble, South Indoor Percussion.

Currently, Cliff balances his time between serving his community as a therapist and welding for local oil fields while still attempting to make time to teach high school percussionists and the snare drummers of Rogue’s Hollow Regiment.
